10 edible wedding favor ideas your guests will love
Have you decided on your wedding favors? "Wedding favors are a way of saying thank you to your guests and an age-old tradition initially common amongst European aristocrats," explains Fen from luxury London cake maker and patisserie Monannie Cakes. "The first wedding favor was known as a bonbonniere; a small trinket box made of crystal, porcelain or precious stones usually containing sugar cubes. At the time, sugar cubes symbolised wealth and royalty."
Our vote is always for edible wedding favors as delicious treats are sure to be appreciated and not left behind at the end of the night, which is a common occurrence if you don't consider what your guests will actually enjoy. So what should you choose? Monannie Cakes shares her top edible (and drinkable) treats your guests are sure to love.
"I like to think of a wedding as an experience, with each element lending its best to tell a beautiful, bespoke story," explains Fen. "A wedding favor will therefore work best if it is meaningful. Consider a flavor that is special to you both. Was there a flavor you had at your proposal, your first date, a special holiday, something celebrating your culture or wedding destination? Think about how you can use that as a foundation for your favors."
