1. Who can submit to Wedding Sparrow?

We ONLY accept submissions from our revered Fine Art Curation members to ensure a cohesive and consistent array of talent. If you’d like to know more about becoming a member, please inquire.

2. Do you feature digital photography?

Our little sparrow hearts are set on film photography so please do not send your digital work to us.

3. Do you feature hybrid work?

We know that it’s not always possible to shoot 100% film whether it’s because of a dark evening reception or an indoor church with little light. If, however, you shoot mainly film and there are a few digital images in your submission to provide the full story please separate your images into folders of digital and film so we can see which is which. We will always prioritise film images over digital.

4. What kind of submissions do you look for?

Real weddings - The nitty gritty of why we all read wedding blogs. To see the hard work of the bride and groom, as an extension of their personality, come together to look stylish and amazing. The weddings we like to feature sometimes are indescribable. Elegant, chic, rustic and stylish just doesn’t cover it sometimes. A couple’s wedding sometimes is just all about the intimacy of it all. If you think you have a real wedding that would knock our little sparrow socks off then what are you waiting for?!

Engagement shoots - Whether it be outdoor or a stately home, it must be creative, inspirational and above all show a loving couple! For more detailed guidance on what we love to see in an engagement session, see our blog post here.

Editorials - Styled shoots are often jam packed with ideas and inspiration thanks to the creative souls who styled and photographed it. Make sure you capture original shots, creative ideas, diversity with skin tones and achievable results.

DIY Projects - Making something for your big day? Share the step by step process on the blog with images so other people can follow in your footsteps.

5. Do you feature previously published work?

We will always prefer exclusive work over previously published work. However, in this saturated wedding industry we find joy in making sure your beautiful work reaches the largest possible audience it can so very occasionally we will feature already published work. Please do not send submissions to us if you’re currently waiting to hear back from another publication.

6. When will I hear if my submission has been accepted?

Whether your submission is successful or not, you will receive a response from us within 3-5 working days. If you have not heard back, please do feel free to follow it up with an email just in case we did not receive it in the first place. You will be advised of a scheduled date for the post so you can check it out and show the world! You will also be sent an ‘as featured on Wedding Sparrow’ button to display on your website/blog.

7. How should I send my images?

Our preference is shared link to a DropBox file. If you do not have DropBox we also accept PixieSet, PASS Gallery, or good old fashioned zip file. Please name your folder with your business name and description (not Wedding Sparrow) and use the form above to submit the link to us. Please send ALL images sized as a minimum of 1000 pixels in width.

8. How many images should I send?

Be selective with your images. Only send us the best of the best. As a general guide, please send a minimum of 50 images for weddings and editorials, 30 images for engagements, anniversaries, DIYs or anything else.
