Casual Destination Anniversary Session in Sorrento
We love anniversary sessions. Oftentimes couples find themselves lost in the chaos of planning their wedding and while they cherish their wedding photographs, occasionally it doesn't quite feel 100% "them"! Anniversary sessions are a fantastic way to commemorate the growth between two people since the wedding and also take some casual photographs to complement their formal wedding portraits. Today's anniversary session is of Samantha and Thomas, a UK couple, taken by Krystle Akin, an American photographer... so naturally they all met up in gorgeous Sorrento for the session!
From photographer Krystle Akin: "Samantha and Thomas celebrated their anniversary on the coast of Sorrento. Being from the US and them from the UK we met up for a anniversary session one overcast evening off the coast of Sorrento."
From the bride: "We decided to plan a trip to Italy to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. With it being our first visit to this beautiful part of the world, we knew we had a few places in mind to go to and began our travels in the picturesque northeastern city of Venice, where we spent a few days exploring before travelling on the train down to Florence. Florence is a wonderful city, with lots of galleries to visit and not forgetting their incredible gelato! The final leg of our trip was to the breath-taking Sorrento. We chose to spend our last 5 days here as we knew it would have a wonderful, relaxing vibe by the sea. One thing you must do when you visit Sorrento is to go on a tour of the Amalfi Coast, this was an absolute highlight of our experience!
Months ahead of our trip we’d decided we’d like to document this special occasion by having an anniversary session in Sorrento. We think it’s so important to have these memories to look back on as the years go by.
By the power of social media, we found the wonderful Krystle, who is based in the States - we were over the moon to find out that our trip coincided with her vacation to Sorrento and we fell in love with her style, and couldn’t wait for this part of our trip. It was a dream to wander through the town having beautiful and timeless images taken of us on film. We will treasure these images forever."
