Desert Engagement Session

Apr 04, 2016 | Engagements

Engagement sessions can be so tough. The engagement session typically the first photo event you have for your wedding events and sometimes either the bride or groom (or both!) are nervous in front of cameras or not quite sure what to expect. We heart helping future couples prep for anything and everything for the wedding, so for advice on what to expect for your engagement session, click here.

This, however, is how you do an engagement session! Tulli and David knocked it out of the park with their lovely color palette of natural tones and pale blues. They even ventured to meet their wedding photographer in the most gorgeous desert terrain in Arizona! Plus, we can't stop staring at the beautiful Free People gown that Tulli chose...

From Rachel Solomon Photography: "These two came all the way out to Phoenix from DC for their Desert Botanical Garden engagement photos! They wanted something that reflected the beauty of the Arizona desert. What better place than the DBG? Tulli and David are so sweet together, and I love the way he makes her smile."

HOW HE PROPOSED

From the bride to be: “We went to my hometown of Spokane, Washington to visit my family, and David sneakily used that weekend to ask my parents’ permission. The next weekend, our dog was sick so we woke up early and took him to the vet, where he received a shot. The vet told us to watch him for allergic reactions.

Not knowing David had any plans to propose, I had made brunch plans with my girlfriends, but told David I wouldn’t be gone long. My friends and I hadn’t seen each other in a while, so we were at brunch for several hours. I received a text from David asking when I would be home. I replied that I would be awhile, and was alarmed when he responded that he thought our dog was having an allergic reaction to the shot!

I rushed home to find the floor covered in flowers and candles leading to our backyard (which in the city is an amazing thing to have so we are pretty obsessed with it). He had gone to a nursery and placed flowers all over the backyard. When I got out back our dog had a bow tie on, and David was standing there waiting for me. I was so surprised!”
