Elegant engagement shoot at Malibu Rocky Oaks
Why choose one dress when you can rock three gorgeous gowns for your engagement shoot? Bride-to-be Dara selected a beautiful collection of dresses to celebrate her engagement with beau Chris at Malibu Rocky Oaks in the stunning Santa Monica Mountains, captured by destination wedding photographer and Fine Art Curation member, Jessica Mangia.
Chris and Dara were looking for an old world backdrop to tell their love story, explains Jessica. "Chris proposed under the stars so they wanted to play with natural elements and the conjunction between land and sky. The timeless feel and the dramatic landscape with rolling hills and blue skies of Malibu Rocky Oaks was perfect.
"We decided to frame their engagement shoot as though they were on a date, chronicling their day out as they stroll and play by the infinity pool, share a picnic together, and romantically gaze out at the breathtaking landscape."
Dara wore a bow-back ivory cocktail dress from Amsale, a Marchesa ruffle gown in blush, and the BHLDN Written in the Stars gown with stunning beadwork on the bodice. She wanted her look to be soft, romantic, and beautiful. Meanwhile Chris wore a grey Bonobos suit for some of the more casual shots and a Dolce and Gabbana tuxedo for the grand-finale on the helipad.
