English Ruins Bridal Style

Nov 16, 2016 | Bridal Style

While we are completely in love with all things refined and with that minimalistic flair, we also fully appreciate the wilder side of things. Today's beautiful feature boasts an abundance of natural textures, wildly composed florals, and super pretty texturized Karen Willis Holmes gowns. We're fawning over the fine art pretty by Kylee Yee and Westwood Design so be sure to pin away for your wedding musings!

From florist and stylist Westwood Design: “I am forever inspired and amazed by effortless femininity and wanted to represent women who are always on the move and are always creating.

There has been a big resurgence in items that are lovingly handmade and as a result of this there is a beautiful quality to each item that cannot ever be replicated. I love the scratches and unique shapes in ceramics, the dye marks in hand dyed fabrics and crumples in delicate paper. This is a celebration of each unique and organic quality to all things created with our hands, bringing a tactile element to the way the shoot was styled and shot.

We shot amongst ruins in the English countryside which told their own story, with their own beautiful markings and mystery. Florals were soft, organic, fearless and bold, a reflection of the women we intended to portray.”

Karen Willis Holmes provided us with a few stunning gowns from her newest collection and they blended in beautifully with the vision. We loved the play on the contrasting soft and strong fabrics; graceful movement in the tulle and strength and boldness in the sequins and stiffer fabrics in some of her new designs."
