Getting married in Australia? Here’s what you need to know
Australia is home to the world's most beautiful beaches and rainforests, remote islands and unique wildlife... no wonder many consider it one of the best locations for a destination wedding. So if you dream of getting married in Australia, what do you need to know? We asked Australian wedding photographer and Fine Art Curation member Anastasia Woolmington from Serenity Photography to share her top tips for tying the knot down under.
Consider the climate
Australia is a very big country with a variety of climates, from the tropics in the north to the arid interior and temperate regions in the south. You might be surprised to hear that we even get snow! If you are planning a destination wedding in Sydney or Melbourne weather won’t vary too much during the year as seasons are mild. But if you are considering tropical Queensland or Tasmania you can get hit with a tropical cyclone or a snowfall depending on the season.
Consider the season
Located in Southern Hemisphere, Australian seasons are the opposite to the Northern Hemisphere. If you are thinking to skip high season and heat, it is better to have your Australian destination wedding from April to September. It is also considered a low season for weddings, meaning vendor and venue availability is much better.
Hire a destination wedding planner

A lot of Australian brides choose native flowers for their bouquets as they can withstand summer heat. Always ask your florist for an advice depending on season and location.
