Deep down South, where the southern draw is thick and the Spanish Moss is thicker, is beautiful Rockville, South Carolina. We are always very hesitant to use the word "vintage" to describe a specific bridal style, as that can vary greatly and is over-used at times, but today's bridal style is reminiscent of another era and we interpret a beautiful, fresh bridal look for the bride who appreciates the nuances of days past.

From Anne Jervey Rhett: "Rockville, South Carolina may be one of the last truly quiet corners of the Earth. Hidden an hour or so south of Charleston, Rockville is a light-drenched haven of dusty roads and dripping Spanish moss. It is a peaceful place, practically sheltered from time, where homes are passed down generation to generation, and residents favor breezes to air conditioning and bookshelves to television sets. The kind of place where, as my mother puts it, people still leave their doors unlocked and their pocketbooks on the front seat. The town’s pulse quickens once a year when the annual regatta brings down the city dwellers for a weekend of excitement. Afterwards, as always, Rockville returns to her state of sedate beauty.
The landscape of this surreal southern wonderland inspired this styled bridal shoot. A private waterfront residence with an expansive wrap-around porch and a chapel (literally) in the backyard proved to be the perfect backdrop for a bride paying homage to a bygone era of southern style.
We envisioned our bride in the spirit of Old Hollywood meets Old Charleston—a Hepburn out of Carolina you might say. Self-possessed, poised, and spirited, she is a debutante with a dash of moxie. She may be thoroughly “new south” in her sensibilities, but her wardrobe nods to the ladylike sartorial leanings of the women who raised her. Imagine if Noah and Allie Calhoun of The Notebook had a gorgeous, gregarious granddaughter, who loved to borrow their dove grey 1950s Packard…The results have me wishing for a time machine and praying that Rockville residents forgive me for spoiling their secret!"
