Hottest Trends from Bridal Week 2016 - Barcelona - Part 2

May 13, 2016 | Bridal Style

Barcelona Bridal Week was so full of crazy beautiful wedding dress inspiration that we simply couldn't fit it all into one blog post. Below is our second part of the world class event photographed by Fine Art Curation member Sara Donaldson exclusively for Wedding Sparrow...

JUSTIN ALEXANDER

With their token elegant, sophisticated and glamorous style of wedding dresses for
stylish brides, the new collection from Justin Alexander showcases royally opulent custom beading on figure flattering styles in luxurious fabrications that perfectly marry the idea of a romantic fairytale wedding. Each design in this collection depicts a romantic femininity with silhouettes that embrace and enhance every woman's body while celebrating life's most exceptional moment, their wedding.

MARCO AND MARIA

We were in awe of the Marco & María show which combines current times with the past. Internal parts of long dresses stand out, and cancans come out of sheer fabrics. Normally concealed, this time they are the protagonists.

By adjusting to the stage sense of the period, tulles play with the woman's body and create hyper-feminine models. As for the colours, designers took inspiration from the paintings of that period and used sepia, wind rose, nude, ivory, khaki and obviously black.

NAHEEM KHAN

Naheem Khan Bridal is famed for it's diversity and originality. Combining intricate, hand-embroidered details with unexpected silhouettes, such as caftans, capes, leggings, and tunics, Khan's latest bridal collection embraces out-of- the-box ideas with a touch of bohemian sensibility.

PRONOVIAS

We saw LOTS of detailed and sexy backs on the Pronovias catwalk this year and the silhouettes and light materials depict a bride with contemporary elegance for whom comfort is beauty's best ally.

The sexy backs draw attention in the new collection, specially ornamented with gemstones and delicate hand embroidery, or the tulle and plumetis appliqués of haute couture.

The skirts are delicately decorated with a jewel-like appearance, and the embroidery trails off in the most sophisticated shades of gold, the star color of 2017. As for the details, the new collection is finished with embroidered gemstones in a minimalist spirit, going over the pieces with a touch of light on the shoulders and necklines and a subtle balance between contours and decoration.
