Jane Eyre Inspired Wedding Tale
“Do you think I am an automaton? — a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! — I have as much soul as you — and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh: it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God’s feet, equal — as we are!”
― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre
Today's heart wrenching Jane Eyre inspired tale is a bit different for us today. Sometimes it is completely necessary to 'flex your creative muscles' or enjoy a creative disruption and let art soak in. Beyond the fact that this Scotland portrait session gives us all the inspiration for almost an autumnal engagement session (LOVE the scarf), Sarah Carpenter Photography provides us with a captivating tale, reminiscent of Jane Eyre. Take in the beautiful imagery and the insane views, and take a closer look into the emotions captured on film...
From Sarah: "For years I have been enamored by the redeeming story of Jane Eyre. The idea that there are second chances in love and in life speaks to my heart. When creating this shoot, I knew that what I wanted to portray was the emotion I felt while reading about Jane’s pain upon losing her dear Mr. Rochester and her subsequent forgiveness of his regrettable actions.
Through these images, I did not mean to tell their story, but merely show the emotions of anguish and heartbreak and then to show the emotions of relief, love and forgiveness."
