From photographer Maritha Mae: "Here in Singapore we drew inspiration from a common love for modern minimalism, and a desire to embrace the beauty of the Asian culture which surrounds us. We wanted to intermarry both eastern and western interpretations of Asian & minimal concepts.

Set in the urban sprawl of this city, the Mobler warehouse served as the perfect backdrop with its tall ceiling, clean Scandinavian furniture, bare white walls and cement floors, all of which provided a large white canvas for us to build our concept off of. Large windows from above let in the prettiest afternoon sunlight to give off the soft, airy, and natural look we were aiming for.

Amsale’s May gown, with its sheer illusion neckline and sleek design, proved to be a very fitting match for a chic and timeless look on our model. Botanical watercolor detail, delicate hair pins inspired by flowers seen in Chinese landscape paintings, and pops of red from freshly peeled lychee were a nod to Asian heritage. Natural dyed silk ribbons and soft fabrics brought in a light palette and delicate textures. The table was styled with a petite ikebana floral piece and earthy ceramics, which created space to breathe… a refreshing take on the age old adage that less is more."
