Perfect Up & Down Bridal Hairstyles for Your 2022 Wedding by Frank Giacone
There are so many decisions to be made about your wedding day—you have to think about everything from the dress you'll wear and the flowers you'll carry to the food you'll serve and the music that will play during the reception. Whatever you do, don't get carried away by only the larger details and forget to think about the smaller ones, such as your wedding-day hairstyle. Are you wondering if you should wear your hair up or down on the big day? We spoke with Frank Giacone, creative director at Frank Giacone Hair & Beauty, for his top tips.
One of the most important factors in deciding whether your hair should be up or down lies with the neckline of your wedding dress. "If you are wearing a strapless dress, loose waves are all in at the moment! It will look pretty and feminine while still showing off the neckline."
Frank also says: "Prepare your hair in advance. With soft oils if you have thick and chemically treated hair. Start any treatments 3 months prior to your wedding day so you have time for it to react." For normal and fine hair, Frank recommends thickening shampoos and hair masks. "For those with fine limp hair, we also recommend clipped hair extensions; these add extra length and thickness; that you usually miss out on."
How do you usually like to wear your hair? If loose waves are your signature look, you might want to do that on the big day, just with a wedding-ready twist. Discuss options with your hairstylist, which might include adding an accessory, more volume, or a bigger curl. On the other hand, if you want to do something that feels more special and different than your go-to hairstyle, consider options that you'd only wear for a very special occasion.
Good news for our brides! Frank will be launching his new hairline “Creating Beauty" with all natural Tuscan extracts and all the best of Italy and its regions within them. So you can try his new line and prepare your wedding hair months before. Don’t miss out!
