Serene Desert Bridal Session with a Gold Turban

Sep 26, 2018 | Bridal Style

As if the desert wasn't as magical and mysterious already...

We're in love with today's beautiful, soft, and feminine desert bridal session with a strikingly beautiful bride in a Naeem Khan gown and a chic turban by Bridal Turban. The peach and terra cotta accents are true to the nature of the desert, and the vibrant and bold florals by Bare Root Flora are a lovely surprise in design. From a recent workshop, both Carrie King and Tara Bielecki share with us their warm film photographs.

From stylist Banks and Leaf: "We had a simple idea; to create a relaxing yet creative experience for a group of strong woman to bond and feel nourished both personally and professionally. Our retreat was perfectly complemented by the gentle slopes of adobe architecture in Santa fe, New Mexico. With a theme of "Restoring our Souls" we composed a weekend of amazing food, exploration, relaxing pool time, perfect conversation, yoga, and creative collaboration.

A portion of our retreat was collaborating to pull together a bridal design that felt feminine, serene, and exquisitely fitting to our desert surroundings. Our very first decision to pull this off was the Naeem Kahn gown featured, with the most stunning intricate beading. We complimented the gown with a soft gold metallic turban, simple jewels, and fresh dewy makeup. If Santa fe could be represented as a bouquet of flowers, it would be this one. The marrying of soft romantic roses, parrot tulips, ranunculus and other spring blooms with pincushion protea, pods, and branches capture not only the warmth of the desert, but also its many textures both soft and sharp. This radiance of color was beautifully compiled in shades of peach, gold, blush and terra-cotta.

No bridal shoot can be complete without a little something sweet. We wanted to pull in those alluring turquoise and terra cotta tones and the cake so perfectly accomplished this. The natural stone texture and flecks of gold gave this sculptural masterpiece the right touch of that aged desert glow.

We felt so delighted to be side by side all weekend with such an amazing group of talented ladies. Coming together to both create and revitalize brought the freshest form of creativity in the most magical sun-dried landscape."
