The Art of the Love Letter
Here at Wedding Sparrow we love the tangible, the heirloom, and the meaningful. When it comes to gifts or gestures that are filled with genuine meaning, we couldn't think of anything more beautiful than a love letter. Not meant for JUST a husband or wife, but to demonstrate grace and thankfulness or to bring someone's spirits up... no matter the reason, a personal and handwritten note surpasses all sweet acts.
We love the trend of handwritten love letters for the bride and groom to read prior to the ceremony. What romance! To read thoughts and notes from the love of your life just moments before you walk down the aisle? We're tearing up just at the thought of how special that is. A handwritten note is also something that one can keep for years and years to come, cherished at anytime that you please.
Below is a beautiful editorial by Izzie Rae Photography inspired by meaningful words handwritten in a note. The written pieces and paperie is also by Signora e Mare, who always amazes us with her talents...
From Izzie Rae Photography: "When I journey back to the place I grew up, I often find myself thumbing through old love notes. Some of the notes are well weathered and over 100 years of age. I can only imagine what emotions were evoked as each word was inked onto the pages that would soon be read. And as soon as that moment came where that envelope was ripped open and each line was read in anticipation for the next… those are the moments that are truly treasured.
Love notes like those allow us to lose ourselves in a dream until we are reunited with the ones we love. But, these aren’t just notes are they? They are our hearts inked onto something physical. And they last long after we’re gone. These notes possess a sense of immortality and are carved onto the souls that read them…
This series was inspired by finding a lost, immortal love in the reverie of a dream through the power of a love letter."
