Tips for Planning a Wedding in Greece
We're so excited today for our couples who are planning on saying 'I do' in GREECE! There are few places in the world more sought after to vacation to and there are plenty of reasons why. Despite the beautiful landscapes and epic places to say your vows, there are always obstacles when it comes to planning a designation wedding, much less overseas in a foreign country. I Wish Chic Events shares with us today some tips for planning your wedding in this beautiful country... take it away!
From I Wish Chic Events: "Kea is an island of Aegean Sea just an hour away from Athens. My concept was to present an elopement by the sea in this private villa using the beauty of the island. Its grey stones and the big transparent surfaces combined with the color of the sunset worked beautifully as a background while the deep blue sea literally got our feet wet! Sea-foam blue and landscape’s light grey formed my color palette!
The watercolor stationery, the quilted cake with the edible flowers, the handcrafted macrame, the shells, the urchins and the corals from the seabed and a variety flowers that seems we were picked from island’s countryside completed the scenery we had dreamed."
Can you legally get married in Greece if you are visiting from another country? Any advice on this?
Greek tradition and culture have highlighted the institution of marriage as the most important event in human life. This experience is so emotional that couples all over the world want to get married in Greece.
Actually, Greece is at the top 10 in the request for marriages from abroad. Ceremonies of any religion can be held in our country (orthodox, catholic, political, Indian, etc) or even vow exchange or renewal.

What time of year is best to get married in a hot climate like Greece?
Greece is suitable all year round. The most popular period is from May to October. The choice of venue and location is yours. We can arrange anything from a popular beach with many guests or a private beach for just two, a commitment at sunset or in a unique mountain setting, a private villa or on an island’s town square.
How can you find your vendors when you don’t live in that country?
The wedding service industry in Greece has become very competitive with service providers continually upgrading and keeping on top of the latest wedding and event trends. Service providers available to you include; Wedding planners, photographers, music entertainers, florists, cake decorators etc. Wedding bloggers collaboration with newlyweds ensures that the services rendered is honestly rated.
With a detailed survey and a Skype chat you will be able to make a decision on which service provider you feel is best suited for your special day.
Should you first visit the country you’re planning on getting married in?
It is advised that couples visit the location prior to the event to ensure it's right for them.
If this is not possible, then the wedding planner can easily assist with images and fine details around the location, schedules, floorplan etc
This will ensure you are fully prepared and comfortable with all arrangements before you arrive at your chosen destination."
