Wedding Sparrow x Hotel De Crillon
Of all the beautiful places we’ve been (very) fortunate to share with our readers, perhaps this place is the most incredible. Team WS recently stayed in the Hotel de Crillon, a Rosewood property hotel in Paris overlooking the Place de Concorde. If we had to use only three words to describe the hotel, staff, and experience as a whole, we would say: luxury, nostalgic, and heartstopping.
First, a bit of history. Hotel de Crillon was originally a private residence commissioned by Louis XV in the 1700’s, then transformed into a hotel in the early 1900’s. When recently purchased in 2010 by a Prince from Abu Dhabi, it was then closed down for nearly a five year renovation in 2013. The renovation was both preservation, but also with a bit of brand new Western flair that feels both luxe and extravagant. Think all the gold and marble done in the most opulent, yet tasteful way.
Upon arriving, we truly couldn’t believe the location. The Hotel de Crillon overlooks the Place de Concorde and sits just behind Rue Honore (with unsurpassed shopping!). Steps away from some of the most iconic monuments in Paris, the location just could not be beat. The staff invited us into a beautiful welcome room to sit and check in. We arrived to a bottle of champagne, some delicious treats, monogrammed pillowcases (so chic and exclusive!) and towels, and a breathtaking view of the Eiffel tower, visible out of each of our five balconies. We weren’t even able to enjoy the Gastronomic restaurant, Le E’crin, or any of the other fantastic eateries or bars as we didn’t have enough time… but let us tell you: we sure will next visit.
If we were getting married all over again (or perhaps for our ten year anniversary?), we would stay at Hotel de Crillon, hands down. This oasis in the bustling city of Paris is THE most romantic, luxurious, and incredible place to stay in Paris, no question. See you again someday, Hotel de Crillon!
