Wedding Venue Review - Rushton Hall
Choosing your wedding venue is THE most important task when starting your wedding planning journey and we make it our mission to only recommend the best. So when Rushton Hall invited us along to see their incredible wedding venue (it's truly a fairytale style castle!), we left in awe of the elegance. Lucky couple Hayley & Lawrence got to review this luxury wedding venue in the depths of the English countryside...
"Driving up the long and winding approach to Rushton Hall, you get the feeling that something special is about to appear around the corner. When we did finally glimpse the Grade 1 listed building it certainly did not disappoint in the grandeur stakes. The grand feel continued as we entered – rich jewel colours and beautiful architecture give the feeling of old fashioned luxury with a modern touch. We stayed in The Duke’s Room which was pretty darn gorgeous too – four poster snoozing and panoramic views of the rolling hills complete with winding river and a family of sheep led me into a Downton Abbey reverie, starring me as Lady Mary (a girl can dream). The bathroom also deserves a special mention as possibly the largest and most extravagant I have ever seen. With a walk in shower to fit at least 4 people (if that’s your thing) and a decadent claw footed bath sitting proudly in the centre of the room, this bathroom is the ultimate in bathroom goals. Alas, relaxing in the tub was to come later as we went downstairs to check out the Orangery which newly opened for weddings last year."
"The Orangery is the most perfect setting for any wedding – the light floods into the beautifully dressed ballroom used for the wedding breakfast, and there is the elegant picture gallery for ceremonies which later converts to that all-important dancefloor. There is also access to the fabulous gardens for you and your guests to enjoy that “hurrah we just got married” glass of champagne as well as a gorgeous backdrop for your photography."
"Dinner was divine – 3 courses of mouth-watering food (especially the beef!) in the 3 Rosette accredited restaurant meant that we could barely make it back up the sweeping staircase to our room we were just so full of deliciousness. After a wonderful night’s sleep in that super comfy four poster, we woke up to the idyllic view of the countryside and the picturesque sight of our new sheep pals breakfasting just beyond the river. It took 2 waiters to bring in our extravagant breakfast which was the perfect way to top off our super relaxing overnight stay; Full English breakfasts, cereals, pastries, fruit, yoghurt along with juices and hot drinks – we breakfasted like kings (or like Lady Mary you might say). Sadly, it was then time to get back to real life with its average sized bathrooms and breakfasts – until next time Rushton Hall…"
