A taste of Tuscany in Australia with stunning yellow dress
On paper, a yellow wedding dress may be a hard sell, but one look at this stunning Millia London gown and any sense of doubt disappears. We are very excited to share this Tuscan-inspired editorial at Mont du Soleil in the heart of the Dandenongs, Australia from Fine Art Curation member, Serenity Photography. If you're wondering how yellow and black could ever work for a fine art wedding, scroll on and prepare to be wowed.
From Anastasia at Serenity Photography: "Unable to travel to their destination weddings in Italy during lockdown, some of my couples had their dreams crushed by the pandemic. But why not bring sunny Italy to Australia? I teamed up with my two favourite Melbourne creatives, Sassafras Flower Design and Event Merchant Co, to bring the feeling of Tuscany to Victoria."
The bride wore three striking looks, including a yellow tulle showstopper from Millia London for the ceremony, followed by a chic black gown, also Millia London, to dance the night away. She also modelled a more classic bridal look in an ivory fitted Berta dress to show that traditional brides can incorporate unique fall styling details too. A cool yellow vespa, golden florals and a petite cake studded with autumn leaves added warmth and character to the celebration.
The yellow couture tulle established the base color for the tabletop design designed by Event Merchant Co. The deep buttercup hue carried through to the tablescape design with mustard velvet napkins and gold-edged Royal Doulton dinnerware. Textured linen tablecloths and bamboo cane chairs emphasised the organic feel of the tablescape whilst echoing the bare branches and fading autumnal tones in the landscape.
The floral design was inspired by the soft late afternoon sun on the Tuscan-style courtyard. Sassafras Flower Design selected luxe roses, tulips and hydrangea, plus fruiting branches foraged from nearby fields, edible fungi in muted gold and soft earthy browns ornamental potted foliages for unexpected pops of texture and colour. This editorial is an autumnal feast for the eyes and a lesson in how a bold use of color and taking inspiration from your environment makes for a show-stopping event.
