Blue toile de jouy wedding inspiration at Château de Fonscolombe in Provence
Pattern can be tricky to incorporate into wedding design but when done well, it's a dreamy way to add style and sophistication to your day. This blue toile de jouy wedding inspiration shoot at Château de Fonscolombe, captured by Provence wedding photographer Thomas Audiffren, is a perfect case in point. Wedding planner Anne-Clothilde from Hedhera Wedding seamlessly blended the iconic toile de jouy print with Dior fashion influences and 1950s style touches to create a wedding that feels both timeless and modern.
Anne-Clothilde shares her inspiration: “February 1947 saw the launch of the Dior New Look collection, featuring a fitted jacket with a nipped in waist and full calf length skirt. It was a dramatic change from austere wartime styles and the international success started the iconic silhouette of the 1950s.
The Dior New Look promoted strapless dresses and long, wide, pleated, flowing, skirted skirts under an emphasized bust. This beautiful silhouette that celebrates the female form is still embraced by many brides and bridal designers today."
The striking blue toile de jouy print flows throughout the wedding design and is complemented with soft purple and blush pink blooms created by Véronique Lorre, including roses, clematis, dianthus and iris. Natural rattan details and touches of gold bring a warmth to the overall design, enhanced by the golden glow of the Provençal countryside.
