From the designer and stylist, Mayhar Design: "When Kayla Barker asked if I would be a part of her Austin Photography Workshop my answer was an immediate YES!!! I adore working with Kayla and was so excited and honored to help her design, plan and style all of the details of the styled shoot aspect for her attendees. From the very beginning, we knew we wanted a clean and crisp environment, so quickly selected the beautiful Prospect House in Dripping Springs, just outside of Austin as our event location. With its minimal and modern design details, our goal was to honor the beauty of the venue as well as its surrounding Hill Country landscape. We wanted a design that was very simple and had a clean modern edge, but one that was also feminine and beautiful and showcased some hopefully unexpected elements. The color palette was dusty shades of mauve and blush, with crisp white accents, and I am still in awe of the amazing team that came together to help bring it all to life. Alicia and Adam Rico behind Bows and Arrows Flowers, hopped on board, to design and create a lush array of mauve-toned blooms that ended up spilling across the dining table, against backdrops and ceremony arbors, and cascading over the arms of Abbey George, our wonderful model for the day. Jenny Sanders designed and created our minimal, crisp and feminine paper products in the calmest shades of blush & nude. La Tavola Linen provided the luxurious deep mauve linens and West Elm loaned us their clean modern dining chairs to gracefully sit in front. The table was rounded out by the softest of blush dinner plates and sleek gold flatware, both sent down by the lovely ladies of Emerson James Rentals. Makenzi Laine came on board as our amazing hair & make-up stylist and we were so excited to have not only one, but two striking dresses, the first by Watters and the second hand made and designed by Elias Gurrola. This project was so much fun to be a part of and we hope that you love how it all turned out!"
