Chic modern vow renewal at San Francisco City Hall
We're all about celebrating life's special moments here at Wedding Sparrow and moving to a new continent is certainly worthy of a stylish celebration! Dorine and Jeff headed to San Francisco City Hall with Stephanie Lynn Photography to mark renewing their wedding vows and saying goodbye to their home state before moving to Kenya for a better quality of life.
The chic couple and their two adorable sons captured some special moments in this beautiful building before embarking on a huge lifestyle change that is sure to inspire you. "We met in California six years ago, started a beautiful family, built the American dream together, but now we are trading it all in for a move to a whole new continent for a slower, more intentional and healthy lifestyle," explains Jeff.
"Kenya has always been calling as Dorine grew up there and came to the States when she was 16. I had only been to Kenya once and fell in love with the country and the people immediately. The initial plan was to retire there but that time-frame kept getting shortened.
Our family needed a change. The suburban-based commuter lifestyle was feeling more and more restrictive and the boys were feeling the stress at school with unrelenting days and then homework on top of that. We needed something different, but wanting a change and then acting on it are two very different things.
"It came down to resolving to seek what we knew to be best for us and to not shy away from how we want to live and raise our family. Going your own direction and ignoring the crowd has been one of our mantras since Dorine and I met each other. Moving to Kenya was the culmination of that outlook, being brave enough to live life on our terms. It has been challenging but we are following our dreams and living our best life, and that is all we ever wanted."
