Honoring absent family members is an important part of wedding celebrations and we love to see the poignant ways couples choose to commemorate their loved ones. College sweethearts Sophia and John remembered her beloved late grandfather by hosting their wedding at her grandparents waterfront estate in Tampa, and on the reception tables "were Waterford crystal hurricane vases, each lit in honor of my late Abuelo and my godmother, Tia Ana," says Sophia. "My Abuelo's favorite patio chair remained in place and was gracefully reserved in his honor with a delicate ivory silk ribbon."

Sophia and John's gorgeous Florida wedding has so many details we know you're going to love, from the chic blue and white color palette to the stylish rattan details woven throughout the day. "The color blue represents both the sky and the sea and is associated with open spaces, inspiration, and sensitivity," says Sophia. "Blue also represents peacefulness, faith, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, and stability."

It's clear that this level of thoughtfulness is behind every decision and the couple worked with Anna Lucia Events to add personal touches to each part of the day. Some of our favourite elements include the couple's monogram, which adorned matchboxes, custom candles and stationery, and of course Sophia's exquisite bridal look.

Sophia wore a simple off-the-shoulder Sareh Nouri wedding dress, with a custom back and cathedral train. "It was exactly the style of gown I envisioned wearing on my wedding day, and similar to the gorgeous dress my mom wore when she married my father. It was elegant, timeless, and modest, with exquisite detailing." She added a custom 120-inch Madrid-Rosaline veil with a blusher, a petite lily of the valley bouquet, and heirloom earrings. Classic wedding perfection!
