Classic late summer wedding with La hora loca at the Fairmont Washington DC
We love the tradition of La Hora Loca. This fun festive tradition, which originates in Latin America, translates to 'The Crazy Hour' in English and usually takes place towards the end of a celebration. Lauren and Ricky held a Hora Loca to kick off the after-party of their classic wedding in Washington DC, switching the vibe from their elegant day celebration to a lively night of music and dancing, complete with glow sticks and neon props. That sounds like our kind of party!
"La Hora Loca was the perfect transition to show off the couple's fun-loving side, and bring in bride Lauren’s Cuban and Miami side to their elegant DC event," explains their photographer, Fine Art Curation member, David Abel.
Lauren and Ricky's late summer wedding at the Fairmont Washington started with a decidedly different tone, with Lauren and her father making a grand entrance at the church in a classic Rolls Royce. After the ceremony, their 200 guests enjoyed cocktails in the courtyard of the Fairmont, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful architecture.
"The evening continued with dinner and dancing in the elegant Colonnade," adds David. "The team at Simply Chic Events drew a lot of inspiration from Lauren’s parents home to make the event feel like an intimate celebration with their favorite people. They worked closely with the couple and their families to design the event with personal touches to tell their DC love story and bring in elements that made the celebration feel like an intimate dinner party, complete with the low table florals and floating candles."
