Classic white waterfront wedding in Chesapeake Bay
We love a waterside wedding and as far as locations go, the eastern shore of Chesapeake Bay is pretty perfect. Brought to us by Fine Art Curation member, Manda Weaver Photography, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is the scene of today's real wedding, which will be a firm favorite with all you brides who love classically elegant style with blousy white florals and timeless details.
Like many couples, Christine and Ryan had to reschedule their wedding due to the pandemic but it was certainly worth the wait. Their flower-filled ceremony took place in a boat shed at Navy Point, which was originally constructed in 1933. A tented reception followed, against the stunning backdrop of Chesapeake's spectacular views and characterful maritime details.
Bride Christine is clearly inspired by fresh elegant style, choosing a white and green color palette for the florals and simple ivory cake with gold edging. The spring floral design by Wild Pollen featured ivory blousy blown peonies, tulips, ranunculus and spirea, with rich green foliage for a fresh and timeless look. Christine carried a gorgeous freeform bouquet and wore a beautiful lace cap-sleeved Mira Zwillinger gown, with nude sling-back pumps and a neat chignon.
The styling cleverly marries classic elegance with the relaxed surroundings by featuring undone details like bare wooden tables and chairs and the bridesmaids' loose wavy hair. It's a lesson in a how classic style never dates and their beautiful photography could almost be from any era.
