Disney-inspired destination wedding with white roses in Cabo, Mexico
Today's glorious destination wedding in Mexico is inspired by European wedding style and the bride's favorite Disney movie, The Little Mermaid. It certainly captures the magical fairytale vibe of Disney, with a stunning beach ceremony against a backdrop of crashing waves and a candlelit reception as the sun set over the Sea of Cortez in Cabo. Every beautiful detail and moment of joy, laughter and happy tears was captured by wedding photographer and Fine Art Curation member, Nadia Hung.
Over to bride Alyssandra to tell us more about it: "I have been dreaming of getting married at the Esperanza Auberge Resort in Cabo since I was child. I remember witnessing a beautiful bride and her handsome groom walking on the beach alongside the incredible Sea of Cortez, when I visited the resort on a family holiday. It was the perfect venue for our love story since my Nicholas and I went to the beach on our first Valentine’s Day together and it was where we fell in love.
"The inspiration for our wedding aesthetic was drawn from weddings I had seen in Santorini and Lake Como. The venue has a very Spanish look and feel to it, which fit with our vision. We also added notes of ocean inspired décor, which was my nod to Disney’s Little Mermaid, my favorite Disney princess, and I even got to walk down the aisle to a beautiful rendition of “Kiss the Girl” by singer Maria Marti.
"I was lucky to have had two custom dresses made by two different wonderful international designers: Russian designer Helen Miller and Fiona from Singapore’s Chambre. My wedding ceremony dress was a mermaid silhouette made out of a Mikado fabric that was perfect for keeping my shape and we added layers of horsehair edged tulle on the back to mimic the ocean waves. We then created off the shoulder sleeves and a bow out of the same tulle to add some drama to the simple design.
"The reception dress was a custom Qipao (traditional Chinese dress) with a modern twist. I loved it because it showed off my collarbones and shoulder, which I felt were some of my best features. The dress was made out of a blue crepe with pink and blue embroidery."
