Echoes at Enys Estate Wedding Inspiration
We love today's rebellious bride, dreamt up by Wedding Sparrow favorites Taylor & Porter. We, too, have a love for all things historical... preserved and restored... so we fell in love with this "Echoes at Enys" stately wedding inspiration shoot instantly! The cracks in the plaster and the dust on the shelves only tell a long love story about generations and generations of families and love affairs long gone. The midnight blue wedding gown with the sultry makeup look fully complete the stunning bridal look...
From film photographers Taylor & Porter: "Enys House, a stately home in Cornwall, England where I live, resonated with me as I have a deep love for historical houses which have been left to the passage of time rather than being preserved in perfect condition. The soft layers of dust on the windows, faded paint and peeling wallpaper at Enys speak to me of the majesty of passing minutes, the importance of memories and echoes of lives lived there long ago. I wanted to try and capture that sense of place by working creatively with multiple exposures and enhancing movement with slow shutter speeds to create tangible imagery reflecting the layers of intrigue a place like Enys has for me. All the photographs were created in camera (rather than in post production) and on medium format film.
We envisioned an inspirational story of a strong, confident aristocratic bride, the youngest daughter and a bit of a rebel. She is influenced by French bohemian culture of the 1920’s and inspired by Coco Chanel. She breaks with convention completely by wearing a wedding dress the colour of the night sky and has found the perfect leading man in her groom. He’s debonaire, worldly wise, cultured and loves her spark. Our couple’s love is so powerful and true that it has left an imprint in the very house they danced until dawn in on their wedding day. The memory of that day echoes through history and we catch a glimpse of them here. My aim was to create a beautiful shoot that felt powerful and ethereal, showcasing the unique textures and structure of the house as well as providing wedding styling inspiration."
