Elegant French Riviera wedding at Château Saint Georges
"Chateau Saint George in Grasse had everything we were looking for," explains bride Josephine. "European architectural charm, breathtaking views and comfortable accommodations that we knew most of our guests had never experienced."
Josephine and Zia's friends and family travelled from Canada and Paris to unite in Grasse, close to Cannes on the Côte d’Azur, in late fall to celebrate their love in magnificent surroundings. The venue, Château Saint Georges is known locally as Petit Versaille thanks to its tower, gilded moldings and exquisite paintings, walls and ceilings.
Josephine adds: "For the decor, we chose vibrant flowers to capture the bright and lively essence of the French Riviera while balancing the beautiful architecture of the castle.
"Opting for the 'off season' provided more vendor options, while a dedicated wedding planner ensured a stress-free day and proved to be invaluable. The blend of all of our vendors and the venue truly created an enchanting and grand celebration that became the best day of our lives.
"There is a quote in our officiant speech that sums it up: 'We have come together today in a magnificent castle, which is one of the most powerful symbols of both ancient history and timeless stories; a castle is literally the stuff of fairytales. And fairy tales are arguably the purest and most enduring expression of the deepest parts of human nature, none of which is more powerful or more transcendent than our ability to love.'"
