Elegant Lake Como wedding at Villa D’Este with speedboat ride
There's nowhere quite like Lake Como for an elegant Italian destination wedding, with its dramatic scenery set against the foothills of the Alps. The upscale Italian resort in northern Italy’s Lombardy region is full of gorgeous wedding venues, like Villa D'Este, where Corinna and Geoffrey tied the knot in a stylish and colorful wedding full of unique details, captured by Lake Como wedding photographer and Fine Art Curation member, Gabriele Malagoli.
Over to bride Corinna to tel us more about it: “We wanted our Lake Como wedding to be elegant, timeless and beautiful, as well as uniquely personal and understated. It was all that and so much more! We welcomed our guests to Lake Como with a bespoke welcome gift box that included Italian Aperol Spritz, personalised fans, postcards, and some of our favourite Italian snacks, including Taralli biscuits.
"The magnificent Villa D’Este was our chosen wedding venue where our ceremony took place in front of the stunning Mosaic garden. Our floral decor consisted of white and cream with joyful pops of pink, orange, blue, yellow & lilac. Following our ceremony, refreshing cocktails and delicious canapés were served on the sunny lakeside terrace, whilst nipped of with our photographer for a traditional Italian Riva speedboat ride on the lake.
"Later on we sat for a five course dinner altogether in the villa’s grand Sala Impero ballroom, and straight afterwards a trio of live Italian tenors surprised the guests as they sang to us whilst we cut our wedding cake. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight! The evening afterparty then started, and we danced into the early hours of the morning, where I just wished it would never end."
