Elegant wedding in Big Sur with cute dogs in floral collars

Stunning coastal location? Check. Cute dogs in floral collars? Check. Organic florals inspired by the wild and rugged landscape? Check check check! Julia and Graham wanted an intimate wedding at an outdoor location that was not only stunning, but dog friendly too. They found everything that they were looking for at the beautiful Wind & Sea Estate on the cliffs of Big Sur in California.

The couple incorporated shades of ocean blue and organic florals that mimicked the flowers and pampas grasses growing on the cliffside, as well as driftwood pieces throughout their reception. They put a personal touch on so many of their details, from the custom watercolor invitations by Karli Strohschein that introduced guests to the Big Sur location, to the sea otters on the groom’s socks, to the local Big Sur honey pots that they gave as gifts to their guests.

"There were too many highlights of the day to count," explains their photographer, Carlie Statsky. "A few of them included watching the bride open a surprise gift from the groom; a small music box that played their wedding song. Another was watching the flower girls walk the couple’s dogs down to the ceremony space, shortly followed by the bride and her proud father, where she joined her emotional groom as they looked out over the Pacific Ocean during their ceremony.

"Yet another was watching the couple break away during their first dance to pick up their dogs and finish the song dancing with them. It was a day full of love, ethereal beauty and so much fun, and it was a definitely day for us all to remember fondly forever."
