European style wedding at Laguna Gloria in Austin, TX

Andrea and Patrick met the way so many modern love stories begin these days - with a swipe right. For them it was on a dating app called The League, known for bringing ambitious and successful matches together. After dating for two years, they together designed Andrea’s engagement ring with Tacori, and in May of 2020 Patrick proposed on a vista overlooking Austin’s Hill Country.

Andrea loved playing the role of bride and planning their European style wedding in Austin, Texas with Uptown Events. Laguna Gloria was the obvious venue choice - an Italian style villa that functions as an art school during the week (the grounds are littered with sculptures created by students) and overlooks a lagoon of the Colorado River. With a guest count of only 80, they opted for a long family-style table that hosted all of their family and friends.

The gloriously mild November wedding day started with getting ready in the Commodore Perry Estate’s magnificent Magnolia Suite, which effortlessly combines European charm and maximalist appeal. For the ceremony, Andrea descended down the natural stone stairs of Laguna Gloria’s outdoor amphitheater, adorned with an asymmetrical floral installation by Earl Grey Floral. Afterwards, guests enjoyed aperitivo up at the villa, as the sun set over the water and jazz music played.

Andrea chaaged up her look for the evening - removing the tulle overskirt to reveal the form-fitting silhouette underneath. The evening proceeded with toasts, laughter, dancing and drinking, before the couple were swept away in their vintage getaway car.
