Intimate Wedding Aboard a Yacht

This intimate wedding of Jack and Eliza photographed by Gracie Byrd Jones is a coastal dream. 36 family members boarded a 71 ft. yacht built of mahogany and teak that sits at Morningstar Marina on St. Simon’s Island. Georgia. This boat is called, “String of Pearls”, and it’s rather famous! Celebrities, like Bruce Springsteen, Brad Pitt, Pierce Brosnan, Harrison Ford, many statesman and a couple of princesses have boarded the String of Pearls in years past; the yacht embodies a rich history.

Eliza grew up on St. Simon’s Island; her and Jack are both artists and they met while studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design. As their guests boarded the vintage yacht, there was a casual wine and cheese hour as the boat left the dock and sailed toward the golden isles. Then right before sunset, while charting around the inland waters, Eliza changed into her silk wedding dress (which she had made herself), and married Jack out on the bow with family surrounding them, sitting on floor cushions and circling around them. They celebrated with family, drank wine, and enjoyed the sunset as a newly married couple. After the boat docked around 7pm, they all headed to NANCY, a chic restaurant that they rented out just for their guests to have a 3 course dinner and enjoy toasting and a lovely ambience.
