Italian destination wedding inspiration at Donnafugata Castle in Sicily
Looking for an idyllic location for your destination wedding in Italy? Look no further than Sicily. Home to a melting pot of cultures, breathtaking landscapes and incredible cuisine, Sicily is rising in popularity with couples looking for authentic destination wedding experience. Today we’re traveling to the picturesque Donnafugata Castle near the hilltop city of Ragusa for a serious dose of Italian wedding inspiration, captured by destination wedding photographers and Fine Art Curation members, Christophe Serrano and Nadia Vaisse.
“Sicily is a pearl of a destination where you can find glistening waters, striking beaches, coastal landscape wonders and mythical volcanoes, plus a mixture of Greek, Arab-Norman, Roman, French, Spanish, and of course Italian civilizations,” explains Christophe. “A variety of beautiful hotels, castles and villas offer couples the ultimate destination wedding experience, with panoramic views of the Taormina coastline or a scenic countryside backdrop painted with the evocative colors of the Sicilian landscape.”
Inspired by the enchanting beauty of Donnafugata Castle, wedding planner Alessandra Bentivoglio from Wedding Sicily created an elegant wedding scene that celebrated the noble residence and surrounding fall landscape. “The harmony of the white stone of the castle and the vibrant display of classic roses combined with local wildflowers created a stunningly picturesque setting on the wedding table,” adds Christophe. “Our florist Perrine managed to create a perfect blend of sophistication and natural beauty, with the gentle hues of the roses mirroring the creamy sunset light to create an incredibly romantic and serene atmosphere”
