Lauren and Chris’ Laid Back Outdoor Wedding

Sweet Lauren and Chris dreamed of a laid back, family style wedding that was casual and meaningful for them. We couldn't love their style more - from the adorable Farmhouse at Straus Home Ranch, to the pew-lined aisle that Lauren walked down, to the incredible Italian food. Photographer Katie Hyatt and florist Venn Floral worked their magic on this laid-back boho affair and we're left dreaming of California in a whole new farm-to-table way...

From Katie Hyatt: "It was a beautiful and small wedding of family and friends who gathered at a Farmhouse in Tomales Bay (an hour north of San Francisco) on a sunny Saturday day in early October. The bride and groom decided on a first look on the bay at a small point. Chris walked toward the end and waited for Lauren to approach him in her lovely Monique Lhuillier gown and stunning aubergine velvet heels.

The wedding began with cocktails and mingling. The guests were urged to walk up a hill to an avenue of cypress trees where simple wooden benches were nestled between. The altar was adorned with found wood and florals by Venn Floral. The bride and groom then walked down the avenue of trees to the sounds of a small band and toward their guests hand in hand. The speech was given by the bride’s man of honor. It was probably the most thoughtful and caring speech, I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing at a wedding.

After the I do’s were said, guests were then escorted to the front of the farmhouse where local Tomales Bay oysters and cocktails were served. The dinner was family style on rows of long farmhouse tables and music layering in the background. The food was entirely handmade by the bride’s mother. I had the opportunity to partake in the food and it was the most amazing Italian food I’ve ever tasted (and I’ve been to Italy several times, ha!). There were several varieties of hand made lasagna, breads and salads. Crafted cocktails and local wines were served as well. Many toasts and happy laughter filled the sky. The night came to a close with dancing and more toasts to the bride and groom. It was day that truly was filled with fun, laughter and most importantly, love."
