Modern minimalist wedding at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto
If modern minimalist style is your jam, you're going to love Vania and Tim's intimate alfresco wedding at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto. The international couple (Vania is from Indonesia and Tim is from Malawi) worked with destination wedding planner and Fine Art Curation member Narelle Janine Events to create a contemporary celebration in futuristic surroundings, full of style and elegant details.
Over to bride Vania to tell us more about it: "We like clean and modern architecture with a touch of refined elegance so we loved the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto as soon as we saw it. It felt like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie; it’s almost otherworldly. We chose to have our wedding in the gardens because we wanted to host our ceremony and reception around the reflective pools and cedar trees and utilize the museum’s facade as the backdrop."
Vania chose an elegant gown by Carol Hannah Bridal, which combined a a classic A-line silhouette with a modern architectural twist. She changed into a lighter dress Marchesa for the reception, complete with blush undertone and floral appliques. Miu Miu heels and a custom veil from The Loved One completed Vania's chic modern bridal look.
"All the vendors we worked with had their own unique styles," adds Vania. "From our tropical flowers by Atelier Josephine and delicious raspberry buttercream by Sugar Suite to our amazing photographers 3B Photography and my sister, Jessica, who did a fantastic job with the stationery, everyone understood our vision and executed it excellently."
