Moody Castle Bridal Inspiration

Jun 11, 2018 | Inspiration

We're transported today to an old world of elegance and regal brides thanks to Fine Art Curation member Kerry Jeanne Photography and stylist Linda Ha. The richness of this inspiration is a welcome sight and it's perfect for any fine art bride looking to get married in the Fall. I mean, that tiara from Maria Elena is perfection right?

From Kerry Langel: "In the fine art wedding world, it’s not too common to see moodier editorials, so I decided to take advantage of that and create a shoot that had deeper feel to it. My inspiration came from the reign of Victoria coupled with Mary Queen of Scots. We knew that we wanted something that felt regal and magnificent but also had a soft femininity to it so that it looks like it was out of a fairytale or a history book. When we started looking for a venue, I knew immediately that I wanted a castle but my issue was finding one in the pacific northwest. Out here, we are known for our treehouse venues and barns, not stately manors. Luckily, I had stumbled across Hatley Castle in Victoria (Coincidentally) British Columbia and was given the opportunity to host our shoot there. It’s old English gardens, stained glass windows, and portraits of past Monarch’s added to the illusion of its destination."

"The color palette rich browns, golds and lush greens that gave an overall feel of old world romance to complement the feel of the castle. The gown from designer Rara Avis was straight out of my dreams - it had romantic beaded sleeves and a skirt that looked like it was floating when our model walked. Coupled Bella Belle heels that every bride needs with the exquisite gold crown from Maria Elena and cathedral length veil from Melinda Rose Design, Jasmine looked like a European queen from centuries past. Thorn and Thistle Flowers provided loose and organic florals that could be translated/symbolize poetry and art. To tie everything in, Julie Ha Calligraphy brought back the lost art of letter-writing with her romantic script and gilded crest. A walk back in time with some of the most incredible team of vendors."
