Pale Peach and Light Periwinkle Bridal Inspiration

Jul 28, 2017 | Inspiration

Alas we're still in warmer weather which means tons of pretty pastels and bold summer tones. Today's romantic indoor English countryside wedding is perfect for the couple who dreams of a traditional, yet enchanting wedding design with a touch of whimsy. Designed by Wedding Sparrow favorite, Sundari of The Wedding Stylist, and photographed by Emma Pilkington, this wedding is simple yet wondrous....

From Emma Pilkington: "The story of this shoot for us was to bring out innocence and femininity within an ancient building. Taking particular inspiration from the gorgeous stone walls of the venue’s ancient Abbey grounds which reminded us of the gorgeous stone building you find scattered through the Italian countryside. This exquisite backdrop for this inspiration was Notley Abbey, nestled in the countryside of England. It offered us a wealth of history from it’s origins as an Augustinian Abbey founded in the 12th century, so often found in England, as well as it’s now new found purpose of hosting celebrations. It even has some original buildings stone construction that can still be seen today truly positioning it as a most historic and beautiful setting for our shoot.

We begin with the the delicacy of getting ready in the beautiful Bridal suite where our Bride is bathed in the morning light. Her makeup and hair delicate, her attire a soft regal tone to it, playing into the history of the building. The couples choice of soft and european inspired design is told throughout the day with our groom opting for an Italian inspired look.

Captivating and in love, our couple marry within the ancient walls. The painterly light created some of the most intriguing and stunning portraits.

The floral design is the true epitome of feminism with the abundance of jasmine, garden roses and stunning scents. The choice for cotton fabrics also kept natural to connect the English countryside with the Italian inspired design. The colour palette is the marrying of all the beautiful spring colours to keep the feel and atmosphere of the design subtle. The combination of laying also played a key part in the design from the gorgeous tulle cape in the bridal attire design through to the tablescaping with layers upon layers of hand-dyed cotton fabric."

Beautiful inspiration. The soft periwinkle works as a stunning backdrop for the peach flowers.
