Persian black-tie wedding in California with blush flowers
Today's black-tie wedding in California is full of elegant style, from the whimsical blooms and warm greenery to the personal details celebrating bride Lily's Persian heritage. Lily is a girl after our hearts, choosing our favourite bow-detail Jimmy Choo shoes and incorporating bows into both her Berta wedding gown and evening dress from Rime Arodaky.
"All Persian ceremonies are slightly different and vary in tradition," explains fine art wedding photographers Whitney and Matsaya Photography, who captured this stunning celebration. "Traditionally, a table at the ceremony is laid out with a spread of items that represent the union of the bride and groom, symbolizing various aspects of a marriage. Lily’s mother carried on this beautiful tradition for her daughter, displaying items that signify fertility, wealth and prosperity, purity, and a blissful future.
"The ceremony began as the sun was setting, filling the scene with so much warmth and romance. The couple exchanged rings, shared their vows, and included a Persian tradition where a canopy is held over the heads of the bride and groom. Before ending the ceremony and kissing the bride, Lily and James took on the tradition of dipping their fingers into honey, and sharing it with each other. This represents the sweetness that will come in their lives.
"The reception was simply with beautiful detail by the florist, Botanical Preserves. The light-patterned linens were adorned with blush pink table runners, candles, and fresh macaroons for all the guests to keep. After dinner, everyone celebrated with cake-cutting and dancing outdoors under the stars."
