From floral designer Florésie: "The design inspiration for this autumn wedding editorial came from Château de Brancion, a Medieval castle where our shoot took place. Our goal was create a full wedding design concept that was regal, fine art focused and refined that elegantly elevated the castle’s Medieval charm.

Each element included in the design was chosen with intention and was captured beautifully by Celine Chhuon Photography. The foundation of the palette featured warm golden tones mixed with blush hues. Because Medieval weddings of wealth featured jeweled tones, we brought in tones of royal blue and garnet red as well! Another way that we showcased the wealth of weddings of this period was to feature different textures. Damask linens, soft leather and velvet were featured throughout the entire design.

Our invitation suite and calligraphy details from Alonsy-Alonso featured a wide range of design. Damask fabric was used as the invitation which was bound by a this gold leather cord. Gold leaf accented the edges of the hand made paper invitation and map of the castle as well the “The Swing” painting on the outer envelope!

We chose a vintage inspired ring to sit along side a jeweled crown of gold for our bride in addition to a pair of oh so sleek black jeweled heels.

Since our shoot was in coordination with Florésie’s floral school in collaboration with Firenza Flowers, the flowers played an integral role in shaping the design. Chrysanthemum Avignon, Rose Golden Mustard, Jasmin and Amaranthus Hot Biscuit (to name a few) were highlighted blooms.

For the table, we chose items that weren’t overly vintage but rather hinted to that time period. Our goal was to not try and replicate a Medieval wedding but rather bring the style into the contemporary world. Many of the tabletop items featured accents of gold. However, the vintage flatware was made of real silver in order to stay true to the time. In Medieval weddings, the color blue represented purity so chose an accent plate of royal blue in order to feature this in the design. Each place setting had a custom damask napkin and signature leather place tag and sat along side a menu and floral bunch. A bevy of floral arrangements lined the center of the table and were surrounded by as many candles as possible.

The signature wedding cake by Sweet Creations Cake was masterfully designed to mimic the fabric that was in the bride’s gown! It too even featured edible gold leaf and our reoccurring Damask pattern!!

Our Medieval bride donned a one of a kind hand made gown from English dress designer Joanne Fleming Design. The high necked design elegantly featured our bride’s soft features while allowing us to focus on her innocence. Oversized shoulders and a soft tulle overlay gave movement to the gown and completed the look.

The ceremony was situated within the heart of the castle with a large floral installation framing the picture window! As a touch of contemporary elegant, we also featured a champagne cocktail guest seating area!"
