Reminiscent Destination Wedding in Italy

Oct 05, 2016 | Inspiration

We were recently swept off our feet in Ancona, Italy at the Michael & Carina Photography 'Horizons" workshop. The natural beauty of the rural Italian countryside was almost as impossible to describe as the heart and story infused in the handful of days spent together. Brides, we know you'll find every single detail awe-inspiring and heart-stopping... the Old World Claire Pettibone gown and the Enchanted Atelier veil alone are enough to take your breath away. Each element was thoughtfully designed and put together by Wedding Sparrow favorites stylist Honey & Cinnamon and the dream team, husband and wife duo Michael & Carina Photography.

Industry-folk, below we've recounted our precious day spent with Michael & Carina in this "House of One Hundred Windows", so check it out ...

From Michael & Carina Photography: "Our inspiration for this was simply the venue - a sense of the story that it told. Ricordare, or ricordo, is Italian for "Remembering" - and it was hard not to reflect on the stories that had taken place in the House of One Hundred Windows. Our couple was gorgeous in an almost bittersweet way; the gowns from Claire Pettibone and the artful headpieces from Liv Hart perfectly matched this aesthetic."

A train ride through the core of Italian mountains, passing through small, rural towns and finally... a view of the Mediterranean. A trip to remember, only to be met with a workshop that surpassed all of our expectations.

We were fortunate enough to speak at Michael & Carina's latest workshop in Ancona, Italy. This workshop was a small, intimate group of what was supposed to be photographers of all levels, however the level of talent in the attendee pool blew us away. The first night we met at The Villa Centofinestre in complete awe. This beautiful villa, nestled in a hill overlooking the small nearby towns, was everything a fine art wedding professional could dream of: historic, intimate, somehow simultaneously grandiose and understated, and gorgeous. We started with conversations, getting to know each other over glasses of Prosseco and some German version of a sausage roll (so good) then eventually made our way over to the front of the building for a candlelit welcome dinner under the stars. The lovely Federica Beni of Honey & Cinnamon puts a lot of heart into everything she touches. Her inquisitive nature and desire to learn and grow only makes her talent that much stronger. The welcome dinner styling (and styling throughout the week) looked like a complete dream.

Throughout the next day, we witnessed the most beautiful sights. Michael & Carina are selfless teachers and genuinely live for sharing their passion for the art of wedding photography with others. Not only are they incredibly talented themselves, but they have a knack for strengthening the confidence of attendees that we don't see too often. Above you see part one of this Italian adventure - we can't wait to show you the rest!

Thanks for inviting Wedding Sparrow alongside your workshop, M & C. xo
