Rustic, Artisanal Countryside Farm Wedding

Jul 12, 2016 | Inspiration

In a moving display of rustic, organic style elements, we're whisked away to a place of 'farm fresh'. While Sunstone Villa is always elegant, no matter what celebration is being had, we particularly love the architecture, rich colors, and rolling hills with more of an understated farm style. Talented stylist Joy Proctor designed Jenna and Jake's wedding inspiration alongside wonderful florist Amy Osaba for a recent Kurt Boomer workshop and we love the result. Beyond steak and chicken, perfectly placed centerpieces, and all of the traditional, more common elements of a wedding can lie something more organic and fresh...

Words from Lynette Boyle: "First there is the rustic and elegant Farmer’s Table designed by Joy Proctor. Next to the kitchen fireplace in Sunstone Villa, Joy created a true farmer’s spread of fresh eggs and bread in wire baskets and wooden dough bowls. Her design is accented by long tapers, vintage blue and white china, and blooms with abundant florals in stoneware vessels by Amy Osaba. I cannot think of a table I would more like to sit down and dine at!

Next is the beautiful couple, Jenna and Jake. Jenna’s beautiful vintage gown from Gossamer is the perfect dress for this incredible villa that was brought over from Italy brick by brick. We started in entry hall and made our way back to the lawn which has breathtaking views of the vineyards and rolling hills. It was a rare day with clouds and rain, but occasionally the sun peeked through for some truly beautiful light.

I can hardly talk about this workshop without talking about how amazing everyone involved was. Kurt Boomer is a gracious and kind teacher, who is truly invested in his attendees strengthening their understanding and love of film, and sharing how to fully implement it’s use throughout the wedding day. All the vendors and their assistants worked so hard to make each shoot remarkably beautiful. Each vendor was so talented, it was an honor to photograph their work. The attendees were all different in their abilities and strengths, and it was empowering to learn from each other and left with a strong community of support. It’s truly incredible for the soul to be surrounded by so much talent and passion!"
