Sailcloth tent wedding with white roses in Virginia

Once you find your dream wedding venue, the rest of the details often fall beautifully into place. This was certainly the case for Charlotte and Whit when they came across The Estate at River Run and its beautiful sailcloth tent in their hometown of Richmond, Virginia.

"We were captivated right away," explains bride Charlotte. "The character and elegance of the property blew us away. Everything was exquisite - from the blush marble floor and pillars in the foyer, to the gold fixtures and giant bathtub in the bridal suite, to the hand painted wallpaper and sinks throughout the house.

"After taking in these beautiful details, we walked out to the back terrace, positioned on a bluff over the riverbank. We were sold. We knew that we wanted to exchange our vows on the blue stone terrace overlooking the James River."

Charlotte and Whit worked with a stellar team of local vendors to bring their vision to life, including East Coast wedding photographer and Fine Art Curation member Lisa Blume Photography, who captured their beautiful fall wedding in exquisite detail.

"The sailcloth tent was an absolute must-have on my list," adds Charlotte. "Gregory Britt Design completely transformed the tent into an enchanting scene, with a stunning entrance display as well tall glass vases overflowing with dramatic florals and a floral chandelier over the head table.

"Our first look under the blooming crepe myrtle trees was one of our most special moments of the day. It was so nice to have alone time before seeing all of the guests, where we could share our excitement and nerves with each other. I was shaking with nerves before the first look but felt so relaxed after having those moments with Whit and getting to hold his hand. I was just ready after that point!"
