When a wedding from California event planner Lea Stafford arrives in our inbox we know we're in for a treat, and this contemporary sleek soirée does not disappoint. Photographed by Mashaida Co and hosted at a private estate in Sonoma, California, Lea designed a seriously cool event for couple Taj and Morgan, with a host of modern details and nod to the bride's New Orleans heritage.

Over to our Fine Art Curation member, Lea Stafford: "With the bride’s family being from New Orleans, I wanted to touch on the family background and drew inspiration from NOLA’s garden district. Tapping into the old world influence the French left in NOLA, I introduced Euro-inspired furniture, detail and texture.

"We created a custom arbor for the ceremony, designed to emulate a modern life-size picture frame and draped in florals by Nancy Liu Chin. For the reception, a velvet lined family table was set with lush flowers plus chestnuts and figs, which helped bring out the warmth of the day. The chestnut and figs were a gentle reminder of the season of thanks. As the couple got married in the thick of a pandemic, health and family was top of their minds so expressing gratitude was a must. Wax seals with the couple’s initials and taper candles carved to create a spindled look provided the amazing level of detail we were after."

A close friend performed Taj and Morgan's ceremony and many more personal details were woven throughout the day, including a custom monogram; NOLA inspired menu; a cake imprinted their daughters’ names and inviting the two girls to join the ceremony. The couple wore meaningful jewelry and the groom designed his own suit with his favorite international tailor.
