Tuscany Inspired Ethereal Wedding Ideas
This Tuscan inspired wedding editorial, styled by Rosy Apple Creations and photographed by Melissa Beattie, plays up the wind and the Old World feel of Tuscany. The light and cheerful colors of the bride and groom balance the moodier tones we see in the rich color of the tablescape and magical scenery. We especially heart the over-the-top amount of thought and intention that went into designing this inspiration shoot, with the romantic and heirloom bride in mind. Read on for inspiration galore...
From planner and stylist Rosy Apple Creations: "'Tuscany meets Yorkshire' was the inspiration for our editorial shoot. When designing this shoot I imagined a very intimate gathering for our bride and groom, inspired by their love of travel, good food and company, combined with the deep-roots of their home in Yorkshire.
Priory Cottages was the perfect location with it’s surrounding countryside of beautiful fields and rolling hills, all very suggestive of a Tuscan landscape. The scenery and architecture spring-boarded our concept, and heavily influenced the colour palette of soft neutrals paired with shades of terracotta, amber and blush. We added muted blue accents to really lift the colours yet keep it romantic and feminine.
We wanted an ethereal aesthetic, which perfectly conveyed the wild beauty of the scenery. We chose two exquisite Claire Pettibone dresses for our bride to wear, which we teamed with gorgeous Emmy London shoes to create the ultimate paired back elegance, and her hair was kept very natural and tousled with soft neutral tones for make up.
Seasonal florals grown and picked by Fiona of Firenza Floral Design were used throughout, including sweet peas, olive, amaranthus, cosmos and rosemary alongside other locally grown flowers, fruit and foliages.
The beautiful, unstructured, oversized bridal bouquet consists of dahlia, astible, agastache, rosemary, olive and eucalyptus and is adorned with generous trails of hand dyed silk ribbons from Lancaster & Cornish.
The table design was created with the Tuscan lifestyle in mind, inspiring guests to pull up a chair and enjoy delicious artisan food and great conversation! We brought in natural fabric linens, simple earthenware crockery and bowls and used natural wooden platters to keep within the organic aesthetic. A gardenia plant and boughs of locally grown apples were the focal point of the table, with sweet pea vines twisted through and occasional berries and hydrangea florets. Organically grown rosemary and olive were used to adorn the platters of food and hypericum berries were placed on individual settings with pots of amaranthus and berries at the base of the table.
A beautiful unstructured floral arch framed the doorway behind our tablescape. Full of texture and organic beauty, the florals and foliage tumbled down the side of the building and continued across the floor.
Beautiful little touches were introduced throughout including reclaimed ceramic dishes detailing delicate muted blue patterns, little “bouquet garnis” of herbs hanging around the venue, wire baskets of terracotta pots, potted scented geraniums and antique metal containers with tumbling flowers and foliage. And finally the invitation suite, by Gemma Milly, was the perfect finishing touch with simple yet delicate hand-drawn calligraphy on beautiful textured organic paper."

What a great idea for a wedding style photo shoot from such professional Yorkshire wedding suppliers. As a lover of Tuscany, it’s great to see how a sense of that beautiful Italian region can be brought to Yorkshire.
