Today we're exploring this contemporary beauty in the clouds at Malibu Rocky Oaks. Designer Joy Proctor Design and host Donny Zavala dreamed up a classy, black tie affair with clean lines and a dash of modern style. We loved this day which started out with a grey sky. Throughout the course of the day, as the team was bustling around carefully putting life to the designs, the sun began to peek out at just the most magical point in the day. The way the sunbeams all of a sudden poured out over the mountain tops is something we will never forget... just look at that sensational tablescape, perfect for this stunning couple.

The chic Houghton gown from The English Department looked like it was made for Ann and Maccallister's contemporary spin on the classic tux look was brilliant. Every little detail, like the luxe velvet in the stationery by Paper Birch, was downright pretty and we're so glad to share this today...

From Donny Zavala: “The first look at the Donny Zavala Workshop carefully and meticulously directed by Joy Proctor gave the attendees an opportunity to capture a most sophisticated black tie groom with his bride dressed in a classy and modern white dress. The goal of this editorial was to give the attendees a thorough chance to work with a couple in and around the entire venue. Complete with a table for two, wedding invite suite/menu, cake and a ceremony set up this editorial brought in to light the importance of creating images that were real and authentic. With direction from both Donny Zavala and Joy Proctor the attendees were challenged to think about their choice of images they captured. With scenes changing throughout the day, the light coming and going, and our bride and groom in indoor space and out, it made for a great opportunity for our attendees to find themselves in a real shoot situation. As always, with Joy Proctor at the lead of styling and coordination, our vendors, location of the shoot it was inevitable that our attendees would have a love story unfold in front of them filled with class and sophistication."
