From The Happy Bloom: "We wanted to provide Katherine with a bride who was artistic, modern but was still approachable - the ultimate Southern bride. Combining modern elements and Southern elements can be tricky, but done right can be absolutely breathtaking. We loved the yellow tone of the William Aiken House - perfectly Southern with so much history. The venue paired with the bride’s sleek ponytail and modern dress gave the shoot that high end feel and perfectly balanced the entire shoot. Photographing alongside Katherine was such a treat and we’re so excited to see where her photographer career takes her!"
From Tristan Needham Design: "Earlier this Spring, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Katherine Ridgely at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, for a quick shoot-out with Jeremy Chou Photography. It was SO hot that day, everyone just wanted to hydrate and head home. Sweet Katherine (from Colorado) stuck around in the heat and personally thanked each of the vendors that were there. Totally memorable and so incredibly kind.
Later in the summer, Katherine came across a post on Wedding Sparrow from another mentoring session I had the pleasure of working on and actually reached out to the lead photographer - Justin Brown of The Happy Bloom, to potentially set up her own mentoring session.
Katherine’s soft branding palette / minimalist aesthetic paired perfectly with the soft tones and crisp architecture and of Charleston’s William Aiken House in Charleston. The simple lines of the model’s Sarah Seven gown, fresh hair style, minimal ring / invitation suite, and stunning floral seemed to fit together seamlessly. Days like these are SUCH a blessing.
